“Mad Max: Fury Road” Leads Critics’ Choice Awards Nominees

While there are certainly a number of deserving films, it would upset few around here if Mad Max: Fury Road actually won Best Picture. The director revealed in his May interview that the black and white version is the best possible way to watch the film, but we’ll have to wait and see if this B&W release comes to fruition.

The space agency planned to launch a new Mars lander called InSight in March from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. However, the space agency stated that the cancellation of InSight mission would not affect other Mars missions.

Fury Road came charging into theaters with heart-stopping chrome action, guns blazing, and a lovely rocking soundtrack. One thing I’ve noticed is that the default position for everyone is to de-saturate post-apocalyptic movies. “Plus, it can get really tiring watching this boring, de-saturated color, unless you go all the way out and make it black and white”.

Although it opened less than a year ago, Mad Max: Fury Road has already had one theatrical re-release: back in September, it returned to IMAX for one week only. And the sci-fi flick did far better box office numbers than ‘Fury Road.’ Food for thought.
