Strong Winds Cause Power Outages, Flight Delays, Damage to Homes
According to the Consumers Energy Outage Map, 8,769 customers in Ogemaw County were without power Thursday night, approximately 48.5 percent of customers.

The high winds and pounding rains rattled windows and soaked parts of the state, but it also knocked out power to dozens of homes and businesses.
Parts of Holland in the Core City area west of downtown are without power and parts of south shore drive have had their power restored this morning.
Other clusters of outages are in the Robinson Township and Allendale Charter Township areas.
As of 10:30 p.m., there were 3,500 customers without power – down from 5,500 customers.
The utility has customers in all of the lower peninsula’s 68 counties, so they have to be ready to have crews across the state at any time.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory that will last through late morning Thursday.

The wind gusts followed rare December thunderstorms and a record high of 58 degrees Wednesday. Crews were struggling to get everyone back online by Christmas, and Wheeler says they’ll be hard at work through the weekend.
