NORAD keeping an eye on Santa
A young boy waves to French diver Pierre Frolla, a four-time apnea diving world champion, dressed as a Santa Claus as he swims with fish in an aquarium of the Oceanic Museum of Monaco December 11, 2015. The latest Santa tracker website takes a user to Santa’s Village, which has a number of games especially developed for kids and “kids at heart”.

It seems so un-Christmasy to compare, but this one-on-one suggests one of two popular Santa trackers may be better for you than the other, depending on what device you are using.
NORAD isn’t the only place keeping an eye on Santa this year.
In 1958 Canada and the United States created a bi-national air defense command for North America called North American Aerospace Defense Command or NORAD.
It’s nearly dusk, which means for those who celebrate Christmas, Santa Claus will soon be flying by. Instead of turning the calls away, the director of operations, Colonel Harry Shoup, had his staff provide radar-tracked updates of Santa’s location.
Check out the trailer for the Santa tracker below, as well as a short history of how NORAD got involved with letting children know when to expect a visit from the big man. Last year, hundreds of volunteers, including many NORAD employees and U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, fielded 135,000 calls from 234 countries… or 40 calls per volunteer per hour. The countdown to Christmas has begun!
It’s a question kids have been asking by phone there for 60 years.
And speaking of NORAD, Microsoft has partnered up with NORAD Tracks Santa to let you find his whereabouts if you ask the Cortana digital assistant on Windows 10 for smartphones, tablets, or desktop.
