Explosion at industrial gas plant in Nigeria, Over 100 killed
Many people were killed in Nnewi, a town in Anambra state, on Christmas eve, after explosion rocked a gas station.

The unfortunate incident reportedly took place after an industrial Gas plant in the area, suddenly exploded.
The exact circumstances of the explosion are not yet clear, but it seems the fire was ignited at the refueling truck while the gas was being discharged.
The Associated Press quoted Emeka Peters, a witness of the explosion, as saying the truck had not observed the waiting time.
All the people at the gas plant were allegedly burnt to ashes while some of the victims who were in the neighbourhood and passersby were caught in the inferno.
The few lucky victims, who were severely burnt, have been taken to Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital, NAUTH, Nnewi.
Local police authorities said that number of casualties may increase as numerous wounded have received serious burns.

The blast was so powerful that it shook nearby buildings and spread panic and horror among locals, eyewitnesses say.
