By Wednesday afternoon, most of the rain will exit East Texas, to the east. Our skies will start to clear, with highs in the low to mid 70s this afternoon.
SHOWERS STAY: Beyond Christmas, we keep daily shower chances throughout the weekend. A lull in the rain will continue through Tuesday evening. Other cities will break their records as well – according to The Weather Channel, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Providence, R.I., and Burlington, Vt., had already broken their daily records by early Thursday morning.
Unusual as it might be, it’s going to feel like spring on Christmas Eve in the midstate.
Tonight the rain will briefly taper off and temperatures will drop into the mid-50s.
If Frank Loesser were writing his classic Christmas tune today instead of in 1944, he might have called it “Baby, It’s (Not So) Cold Outside”, given the record warm temperatures. Friday night and into the weekend we’ll get some more scattered showers.
