Modi to visit Pakistan, meet Sharif in Lahore — Surprise
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today (Friday) meet his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Pakistani media reports that Modi will attend the marriage rituals of Sharif’s granddaughter which is scheduled today.
Just a few minutes before he made an informal announcement of his visit on Twitter, Modi tweeted that he spoke to Nawaz Sharif and wished him on his birthday.
Modi who will be heading home from Afghanistan today is expected to stop over in Lahore.
The NDA government in the Centre, recently chose to restart the India-Pakistan dialogue, which was suspended after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj confirmed the meeting between the two leaders.

In a major surprise, the Prime Minister will be flying to Lahore this afternoon, his first touchdown in Pakistan, where he will meet Sharif.
