Carson’s personal brand benefits from presidential campaign
Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson speaks during an interview with The Associated Press in his home in Upperco, Md., Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015.

Earlier in the day, Carson gave two “secret” interviews – scheduled without the knowledge of his campaign manager – to the Washington Post and the Associated Press where he said “every job is on the table” and ‘everything is on the table’.
“I’m looking at every aspect of the campaign right now”, Carson told the Post.
“The issue that has been put out is that because you are soft-spoken and nice you can’t possibly be tough; you can’t have the strength to deal with the incredible security problems we now face”, Carson said, adding that such a presumption “is not true, but now I’m talking about it. We always have to be in the process of improving”.
“I thought maybe he would be a little more chastened in the way that he reported this time”, Carson said, “but apparently not”.
Sitting alone in the basement of his Maryland house, Carson said in an interview with The Washington Post that no one’s job is safe, complained about budgetary management in a campaign that has spent millions and called some of his top staffers overpaid and ineffective in broadcasting his message. ‘And, yes, we’ve had enormous fundraising, but that requires that you be efficient in the way you utilize the funds.
Giles said on Wednesday that he was not in any talks to return to Carson’s side.
Carson’s campaign manager was unaware of all this, and over the course of the day there was much discussion about internal chaos in the Carson camp. “There are so many people I run into that say they’ve never voted before, or never registered to vote or participate in a primary, and that they’re doing all of those things now”.
Carson said he has been urged privately by his aides to use more “bombast” and to take on Trump and Cruz more forcefully but that he disagreed with their advice.
Carson said he plans to announce a more specific strategy when he returns to the trail after Christmas, previewing his plan for Libya. He maintains that too many US leaders, including some of his GOP rivals, have zeroed in on the Islamic State group’s activities in Iraq and Syria, while failing to acknowledge that they pose a threat beyond those borders. As for Bennett’s role, Bass said of Carson: “This is his campaign and these are his decisions”.
He recalled meeting one patient to whom he’d given a hemispherectomy – removing half the brain – as an infant.
Besides, Carson said, he likes his opponents – including bombastic Trump.

“We need to maximize our efficiency, maximize our outreach, look at the things that brought us success, look at the things that caused us to fall, and react to those things in an appropriate way”, Carson said.
