Donald Trump: No proof Putin has ‘killed anybody’
The Russian president, who some of Trump’s GOP rivals have referred to as a “thug” & a threat, lately praised Trump as “bright and talented”.

“If he has killed reporters, I think that’s bad”. “I think that’s an asset, not a liability”. And I’ve always had a good instinct about Putin, for me, I just feel that that’s a guy – and I can analyze people.
“So, I’m a deal-maker”, Trump said.
“The thing that is so concerning about Mr. Trump’s compliments of Vladimir Putin is Vladimir Putin has slaughtered his own, murdered his own people, including people I knew”. I’m saying, when you say a man has killed reporters, I’d like you to prove it. And I’m saying it would be a bad thing if it were true. But this isn’t like somebody that stood with a gun in these you know taking the blame or that he’s admitted that he’s killed.
“Because I’ve been – you know, you’ve been hearing this, but I haven’t seen the name”, Trump continued.
Speaking to ABC’s George Stephanopolous on Sunday, the Republican said that it would be “despicable” if Putin had been behind the murders of reporters in Russian Federation, but added that he had “never seen any information or any proof”.
Pressed by Stephanopoulos, Trump said there was no direct evidence of Putin’s involvement. You’re supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, at least in our country. But when he was asked about allegations that Putin had stifled and even killed members of the press, here’s what he said.
Much as Putin has muzzled free expression in the media, marginalized political opponents and scrapped contested elections, Trump has blithely endorsed shutting down parts of the Internet, praised President Franklin D. Roosevelt for interning Japanese Americans during World War II and openly contemplated registering Muslims in America. Unlike what we have in this country”, – failed to satisfy the MSNBC host, who went on to say, “But again: “He kills journalists that don’t agree with him”.
Russian President Vladimir Putin Saturday hailed the country s secret services for foiling around 30 planned attacks and uncovering more than 320 foreign spies in 2015.
Trump quickly responded: “I think our country does plenty of killing, also”.
While there’s never been any direct proof that Putin has had anyone killed, some of his enemies have met untimely deaths.
But Trump asked his TV interviewer to first “prove” any such allegations.
But not so fast: The Donald might want to curb his excitement about Putin’s flattering words.
