The storms come on a day of unseasonably warm weather.
A Wind Advisory has been issued for the area.
Along the coast, very high tides this morning and Friday may cause flooding in low-lying beach areas along the immediate coast, including in Imperial Beach, South Mission Beach, La Jolla Shores, Cardiff-by-the-Sea and Oceanside. A few scattered showers are expected late into the evening, followed by a dry but cloudy Christmas day with a high of 46 degrees.
The advisory starts at 10 p.m. Wednesday and lasting through 12 p.m. on Thursday.
In the valleys and along the coast, Alpine and Fallbrook topped the lists at 2.81 and 1.48 inches, respectively.
The rain and gusty wind affecting parts of Riverside County are expected to ease up later this morning, but a second storm system is set to hit Christmas Eve.
Forecasters said motorists could be affected on Interstates 8, 10 and 15 and state Route 243. However, forecasters said it could also affect holiday travelers.
