The UK’s Sky News reports John Boyega made a surprise appearance at a screening of The Force Awakens in Brixton and told fans he is “so happy” to work on the next movie. But one Disney exec let slip one tiny detail that might seem unimportant at first, but it may actually be quite revealing – and it might end up being the best thing about Star Wars: Episode VIII, at least for me.
“I never hear him express regret like that”, added Grunberg, who starred in Abrams’ TV dramas Alias and Felicity.
Although Abrams would have undoubtedly been a safe pair of hands were he to have helmed Episode VIII, it will be both intriguing and exciting to see what Rian Johnson and Colin Trevorrow bring to Episodes 8 and 9 respectively, and Abrams’ vote of approval for the former’s script has only increased our anticipation.
Insiders say Disney producers were so determined to get the 73-year-old to reprise his role as Han Solo for The Force Awakens that they agreed to a $37 million fee.
