San Diego sports bars brace for Chargers exit
It nearly seemed like an afterthought compared to the emotions from fans and players before, during and after the game — a reminder that this wasn’t just any ordinary game, but the last home game of 2015 (and possibly, the last home game in San Diego Chargers history).

San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers leaves the field after their win against the Miami Dolphins in an NFL football game, Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, in San Diego. He was sacked three times, with linebacker Melvin Ingram collecting a pair for the Chargers, and the Dolphins lost for the fourth time in five games to clinch a losing season for the first time since 2012. Rivers got picked off twice, but the ball came back to him when the return was fumbled.
SAN DIEGO (AP) – If this was the Chargers’ last National Football League game in San Diego, it ended with a victory and a surreal postgame scene.
Said Weddle, who signed autographs for fans while Jackson Browne’s “Stay (Just a Little Bit Longer)” played on the loudspeaker: “It’s incredible seeing all these fans out here”.
The Chargers scored their first touchdown in three home games midway through the first quarter. But he was drafted by the Chargers and he started a family in San Diego.
“Winning means everything, it’s why I’m in this, and it’s why I hope we are all in this”, Campbell said.
Gordon was injured in the second quarter after taking a blow to his left knee during a run. Rivers admits he was forcing passes toward Malcom Floyd as he played his last home game of his career.
The diminutive back also ran for a score as the Chargers totaled 442 yards after they averaged 305.3 in the previous six contests. “I just thought he was one of the guys that I would say when I challenged the players, he is kind of what I was looking for, the way that he went out and competed and did his job”.
With the uncertainly of relocation lingering over both franchises, Woodson tries to help the Raiders sweep this season series and hand the Chargers a seventh straight AFC West defeat Thursday night.
Whether it is the last game in San Diego for these Chargers, nobody will know if its true or not until January when the vote will be taken in Houston.
The Raiders have gone 3-5 since the win over San Diego. “We get so caught up in what we do you forget how many people are involved – the fans, the people that have been part of the stadium that make all these memories we have”. Tight end Antonio Gates (six receptions, 88 yards) also did damage. Kroenke has proposed a stadium in Inglewood.

Back in February, the Chargers teamed up with the Raiders on a new $1.7 billion stadium development proposal in Los Angeles. The Dolphins’ Rashad Jones picked off a Rivers’ pass and returned it 42 yards before fumbling, with Rivers coming up with the loose ball. He caught a 9-yard scoring pass late in the game. He scored on a 2-yard run and caught a 9-yard TD pass in the second quarter. McCain was hurt trying to block a punt by Mike Scifres.
