US Blocks UK Muslim Family from Boarding Plane to Disneyland
Social media reverberated with messages of anger and vexation by a diverse range of citizens in Britain, where around 5 per cent of the population is Muslim and where many people have expressed revulsion over calls two weeks ago by Mr Donald Trump, a Republican presidential candidate, to prohibit all Muslim visitors.

A British Muslim man has spoken of his “frustration and anger” after his family was stopped from flying out to a dream holiday to Disneyland.
Stella Creasy, a member of the opposition Labour Party, told The Associated Press Wednesday that she had written to Cameron seeking his intervention.
A US official told CNN that not all family members were prevented from traveling.
“We were the only family that was of Asian, Muslim, sort of appearance, and it seemed a little bit embarrassing that only we were taken out (of the line to board)”, he told the BBC.
Prime Minister Cameron called those remarks “divisive and wrong”. He said he had never had any problem travelling on that visa before.I asked him why repeatedly and he said You must have done something wrong, without any explanation, Masroor said.
A spokesman for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection told VOA religion, faith, or spiritual beliefs of an worldwide traveler are not determining factors about admissibility into the county.
“It is because of the attacks on America – they think every Muslim poses a threat”, he was quoted as saying by the Guardian. “[Federal law lists] more than 60 grounds of inadmissibility divided into several major categories, including health-related, prior criminal convictions, security reasons, public charge, labor certification, illegal entrants and immigration violations, documentation requirements, and miscellaneous grounds”.
The officials said they are concerned at the way the denied boarding is being portrayed as an anti-Muslim move, and they denied that religion played any part in the decision.
Imam Mansoor wrote on Facebook on Monday that he had been invited to a meeting that day at the U.S. Embassy “to clear up the visa mess they created”. “So the only explanation I can think of is that my name is Mohammed”.
A spokesman for Norwegian Air said last night: “We can confirm that a group of passengers were denied the right to board a flight from London Gatwick to Los Angeles on Tuesday at the request of the US Department of Homeland Security”.
He said he feared that USA officials were singling out Muslims. “I have to also say, this is not the only case that I have had raised with me of someone traveling to America being stopped at the last minute”, Creasy told CNN.

In addition to Homeland Security issuing a report stating that throughout 2013 the department has granted 120 thousand Muslim immigrants permanent residency, what is known as the “Green Card”, which holds the potential of later on transforming into full American citizenship.
