A flash flood watch is in effect until this evening for protections of the Washington, D.C. area, to include Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park, according to the National Weather Service. The cold and dry weather is expected to persist through the weekend, with mostly sunny skies for Christmas day, and Saturday.
The National Weather Service has canceled its freezing fog advisory this morning while warning motorists that patches of dense fog will linger through late morning.
In an online report, meteorologist William Deedler said the outlooks for snow on Friday “is lower than average, given the sustained warm temperatures”.
It will cool off a little overnight, and Christmas Day will have a high of 60 degrees and a mix of sun and clouds. Once again, temperatures will challenge records.
Savannah, Ga. (WJCL) – Near Record Highs the next few days…
We did it, folks: we matched the heat record for December 23 on Wednesday when the Austin area temperatures hit 81 degrees.
Friday Night: A chance of showers.
SUNDAY: Rain showers will continue for the end of the weekend, with high temperatures around 67 degrees. Tuesday it’s back to shower chances, with afternoon temperatures back near 50 degrees.
And while there’s no possibility of a white Christmas in Rochester this year, there is a chance we’ll have some snow on Sunday. Breezy at times. South wind 10 to 15 miles per hour. Temperatures will finally return to more normal levels starting Monday with highs in the 50s and lows eventually dropping into the 30s.
