What Comes Next: Chargers vs. Raiders
While nobody knows which National Football League team will be moving to Los Angeles next season, the San Diego Chargers played today as if this was the last home game in Qualcomm Stadium and in San Diego.

2003 – Third-year running back LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for 243 yards on 31 carries and two touchdowns in a 24-21 win by the Chargers in San Diego to end the regular-season. The Chargers outplayed Miami in every facet of the game, and it was no where near as close as the blow out 30-14 score indicates.
San Diego has dropped its last six divisional games, including four this year, going into the Week 16 matchup at Oakland’s coliseum.
Rivers completed 26-of-36 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions against Miami as he went over 4,000 passing yards for the season. Raiders tight end Dave Casper bobbled the ball into the end zone where he finally fell on it for what would end up being the game-winning touchdown.
It might have been be for the last time.
The rookie running back hasn’t done a lot this season. After spending the last 10 months watching the Chargers and the City of San Diego play out a very public episode of divorce court, the fans feel betrayed by both sides. The last time they faced the Raiders, the Chargers defense couldn’t get anything going, allowing 130 rushing yards and another 282 through the air on their way to an eight-point loss.
After 54 years in San Diego, the Chargers have turned their attention to Los Angeles, where they are proposing a privately funded joint stadium in Carson with the Oakland Raiders.
“I’m still out there to play to win”, Tannehill said. Campbell’s promotion when Joe Philbin was sacked inspired Miami’s best stretch of the year, with consecutive lopsided victories before the team went into a tailspin.
Maxim Garshman is a Bay Area native who now calls San Diego home.
I think it’s safe to say that whatever team gets Eric Weddle next year is getting a hell of a teammate. The Dolphins’ Rashad Jones picked off a Rivers’ pass and returned it 42 yards before fumbling, with Rivers coming up with the loose ball. San Diego Chargers wide receiver Javontee Herndon (81) returns a punt during the second quarter.

-RUSH DEFENSE: C. The final total doesn’t look good (36 carries, 140 yards) but that includes a 53-yard run by Donald Brown (12 carries, 90 yards) when the game’s outcome was decided. Lambo missed the extra point for a 6-0 Chargers lead. Injured for the Dolphins were offensive tackle Branden Albert (knee), linebacker Chris McCain (knee), linebacker Koa Misi (back) and center Mike Pouncey (foot).
