Police line up to move Black Lives Matter protestors out of the rotunda area of the Mall of America on December 23, 2015 in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Hundreds of protesters demonstrated over the lack of charges for officers involved in the November shooting of Jamar Clark, yet another in a list of young Black individuals dead after an incident with the police. McDonald was armed with a knife, but appeared to be walking away from officers before being shot in October 2014.
After leaving the mall, protesters continued on to Minneapolis-St.
The judge also denied the mall’s request to order the organizers to remove posts about the protest from social media and to alert followers that the demonstration had been canceled.
Bloomington Police Deputy Chief Denis Otterness confirmed officers would be at the mall, but declined to discuss their plans for handling the protest.
The privately owned mall says another demonstration would mean lost sales, mirroring a major protest past year. “If I think about an unemployment rate in the African-American community three times the white unemployment rate, that’s disruptive”.
Protesters then boarded trains to the Minneapolis airport and blocked traffic by linking hands.
A judge ruled Tuesday that several local Black Lives Matter organizers cannot demonstrate at the Mall of America on the busy shopping day before Christmas Eve, but she said she couldn’t stop others from…
Police said several people were arrested at the airport, where officials said access to one of two terminals was blocked, causing backups on nearby roads.
“They talk about this demonstration as being disruptive”, Seratoff said. The Mall of America is consistent: “no demonstrations, no matter how righteous the cause”.
Neither mall officials nor Bloomington police said what security measures were put in place to prepare, though special event staff searched bags at every mall entrance before the rally. “Because we will drag you out of that office for justice”. Hogan says six people were cited on trespass charges and released while two were taken into custody on gross misdemeanor charges.
One of the organizers of the protest, Kandace Montgomery, told the Associated Press that the protest is meant to disturb commerce during the busy Christmas season.
“When you disrupt their flow of capital … they actually start paying attention”, she said.

Mike Griffin, who joined similar protests past year, said his flight to Chicago was among those delayed.
