“It was organised on a short notice after Mr Modi expressed his wish to come here en route to Delhi from Afghanistan”. This was surprise visit of Indian PM.Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier arrived in Pakistan in the evening after wrapping up his visit to Russian Federation and Afghanistan. The agenda of the meeting is not known but the two leaders are expected to discuss major issues which have rocked ties between the two countries.
India and Pakistan both claim the Kashmir region in the Himalaya Mountains, and each country possesses nuclear weapons.
He said the premiers of both countries want opening of new avenues of prosperity for its people.
“We do not have any issues with relations improving between India and Pakistan…” India’s Prime Minister is one of the world’s most social media savvy politicians, with a following second only to U.S. President Barack Obama.
“This is an important step by the Prime Minister which will take relations between both the nations to a new level. At this moment, I can think of beheaded Hemraj”, said JD(U) leader KC Tyagi. “Let no gloom of yesterday’s blur any prospect of a better and brighter tomorrow”, the Muslim Conference leader added.
The opposition Congress Party called Modi’s visit irresponsible and said that nothing had changed to warrant warming of ties between the nuclear-armed rivals that only in August canceled scheduled high-level talks after ceasefire violations across the border.
Sharif and Modi held a meeting in a “cordial and positive atmosphere” and they agreed to continue working for the welfare of people of their countries, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry told reporters.
The news came as a surprise for many as PM Modi announced his sudden landing in Pakistan.
