Rahul Gandhi Targets PM Modi On Kirti Azad’s Suspension
The supporters begun their protest soon after the party held its regular press briefing inside the premises.

“What anti-party activity have I done?” the three-time Lok Sabha member from Darbhanga in Bihar asked as journalists sought his reaction after the BJP announced his suspension for anti-party activities.
For eight years, Azad has been campaigning against alleged financial irregularities in the DDCA, which was headed by Jaitley for 13 long years until 2013.
Sidelined veterans Advani, former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Shanta Kumar and former finance minister Yashwant Sinha met at former HRD minister Murli Manohar Joshi’s residence here. “As you have not mentioned DDCA corruption issue, I believe that the party has nothing to do with this matter and is purely out of its purview”, Azad said. “Now I will tell everyone”, he said, sounding defiant.
Reiterating that the issue of corruption in the Delhi cricket body was old, Azad denied that he had teamed up with the Congress or the AAP. Kirti said Subramanian Swamy, who is fighting the Gandhis in the National Herald case, had offered to help him draft a reply to the BJP’s letter.
On Monday, Azad had targeted Jaitley via twitter.
According to sources, BJP veterans are also unhappy over Azad’s suspension as they feel that the decision was taken in haste and may cause more harm to the party. I’ve been telling them about the issue from nine years. He has denied the allegations, and sued Delhi Chief Minster Arvind Kejriwal for calling him corrupt in the DDCA affair.
The AAP and the Congress have come out in support of Azad, who reiterated on Wednesday that his suspension was “unfortunate” and that his fight was against corruption and not any individual.
The BJP, Azad told NDTV, must prove what anti-party activities he has conducted.
In the letter to Azad on Wednesday, Shah had said, “You have made several statements in the media… which constitute anti-party activities and such unfounded statements and allegations were clearly meant to bring disrepute to the party and its office bearers”.

In a veiled warning that in-house dissenters, including Shatrughan Sinha, may face Azad’s fate, Jaitley hinted on his blog, “Stray thoughts after winter session”, that disciplinary action was initiated against the former cricketer for his refusal to mend ways despite warning. When asked if he thinks he was suspended because Jaitley wanted him out, Azad responded in the affirmative.
