Suspended, Kirti Azad Makes Damning Allegations Against Jaitley
They contended that the gathering ought to have sent a show cause notification to Azad, waited for his reply and then acted after a due meeting of the party’s parliamentary board. REBEL BACKS ANOTHER REBEL As expected, BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha came out in support of Azad and asked Jaitley to follow the example of LK Advani, who had resigned over the Hawala case, and “come clean as advised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi”.

In Ahmedabad, Azad said it was unfortunate he had been suspended for “speaking the truth” about corruption in Delhi’s cricket body.
Azad, who has asked the veterans to intervene on his behalf, was expected to meet Joshi, at whose residence the meeting took place. Though the fault lines in the BJP are not easily discernible, it is an open secret that Advani, Joshi, Shanta Kumar and former finance minister Sinha are known to be unhappy with the working style of Shah, a confidant of Prime Minister Modi.
In the letter to Azad on Wednesday, Shah had said, “You have made several statements in the media… which constitute anti-party activities and such unfounded statements and allegations were clearly meant to bring disrepute to the party and its office bearers”.
“Kirti Azad-hero of the day”. “I am not colluding with Congress and Aam Aadmi Party”. I’ve been telling them about the issue from nine years.
The BJP central leadership was very angry with Azad for reportedly turning down Shah’s request to not take up the DDCA issue further. That either elicited any reply from the party or led to any corrective action.
BJP maverick Subramanian Swamy appeared, on micro blogging site Twitter, to question the decision on Azad, asking whether cricket fell within the purview of party discipline.
Suspended BJP MP Kirti Azad and PM Narendra Modi. “CSI condemns the action of BJP to suspend Kirti Azad”, read its statement.

Modi, addressing BJP MPs, urged them to fan out to their constituencies after the winter session to “expose” the Congress – which was “disrupting” Parliament and blocking business – before the people. While claiming that he never indulged in any form of anti-party activities and pledged to fight against corruption in future, Azad added that he never called thr Finance Minister a “chor” (thief).
