Star Wars sets North America opening weekend record with US$238m

According to Variety, J.J. Abrams’ “Episode VII” has already smashed a pair of opening box office records, and is well on its way to more. This breaks the record set by “Jurassic World” for the highest grossing four-day opening weekend. That was a significant hurdle for “Star Wars” to overcome.
