Among those interviewed after the debate, Clinton’s lead grew to 60 percent vs. Sanders’ 27 percent. Polls show he remains the front runner for the Republican nomination. Just 37 percent of those surveyed said they would vote for Trump.

Trump’s campaign has come to be defined in part by his ability to survive despite statements that seem like they could mark “the beginning of the end” for him.

Overall, Clinton tops Sanders among registered voters who are Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents 50% to 34%. Clinton is leading Sanders by 72 per cent to 15 per cent on foreign policy, and 63 per cent to 18 per cent on issues related to the dreaded militant group.
