Kirti Azad demands explanation from Modi for BJP suspension
Azad requested the prime minister and the “Margdarshak Mandal” comprising Modi, Advani, Joshi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh, to look into the disciplinary action initiated against him, wondering whether he has been taken to task for exposing corruption in the construction of Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium.

His reply says that since the suspension notice made no mention of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) controversy, he presumes the matter is “beyond the purview of the party”.
Azad was suspended on Wednesday for “anti-party activities” with party president Amit Shah telling him he had “colluded with Opposition parties including the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party with the sole objective of embarrassing the party and its office-bearers”.
The minister has sued Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders for suggesting that he was corrupt.
Although the “Margdarshak Mandal” has formally not met, Advani and Joshi had roped in Yashwant Sinha and Shanta Kumar to discuss the Bihar elections a day prior to Diwali last month. “We have been tolerating so many who have embarrassed the party in the past, so why suspend Azad, that too for raising voice against corruption”, a senior party functionary said. On Thursday afternoon, Advani, Kumar and Sinha drove down to Joshi’s residence and sat there for an hour long meeting.
In a related development, more than 100 supporters of Azad, who was in the Indian cricket team that won the 1983 World Cup, staged a noisy protest outside the BJP headquarters here against his suspension.
Raising slogans in support of Mr Azad, Darbanga MP, the protestors, armed with placards, demanded immediate annulment of his suspension order and alleged BJP had acted against him due to pressure.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)has expressed its unhappiness over Bharatiya Janata party’s handling of the Kirti Azad issue.
The first time the BJP elders had met immediately after humiliating defeat of the Party in the Bihar Assembly polls. Is cricket affair within the purview of party discipline? 2.

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi had earlier today said that Prime Minister Modi who believes discouraging corruption, should answer on Kirti Azad’s suspension.
