All three, identified as Abdul Wasim, Omar Hasan Farooqui and Maz Hassan Farooq, are from Telangana.
Three Mumbai youths Wajid Shaikh (25), Mohsin Sayyed (26) and Ayaz Sultan (23) had left home allegedly to join the group, operating in Syria and Iraq.
Police said the three were rounded up in a joint operation by Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad and Telangana Police at the airport when they were trying to board a morning flight to Srinagar after arriving in Nagpur from Hyderabad yesterday. Maz is an engineer with a B.Tech degree.
The families of the three had earlier filed missing persons complaints in Telangana, after which the police formed a plan to find them. “Our team was monitoring their suspicious movement”. Police claimed that, the three young men had gone to Nalgonda yesterday, to the home of late Salauddin, a known SIMI activist. They were also in contact with members via social networking sites. They were influenced by some of the ISIS videos and a preacher of ISIS.
“To avoid detection at Hyderabad airport where vigil is very high, they travelled by road to Nagpur and were to fly to Srinagar”.
But if to believe the Police sources, it claimed that no one is detained so far and insisted they have not done any crime under Indian law.
Also, a 16-year-old Pune girl was arrested while she was on her way to join the terror outfit.
