Chipotle’s stock drops after another E. coli outbreak
As Chipotle Mexican Grill had been hoping to move forward and put the recent E. coli outbreak behind it, the restaurant has now been linked to another outbreak.

While only five illnesses have been reported in connection to this E.Coli outbreak, it’s possible that there are more that weren’t reported.
Chipotle says it’s implementing new food safety standards. Not only this, the business’s image also suffered from the news that norovirus contagion at a Boston location that sickened more than 140 college students.
Chipotle fell 3.6 percent to 521.71 in the stock market Monday, Investors.com reported.
So far, 53 people have been sickened in nine states as a result of the dual E. coli outbreaks, and 47 of those people have confirmed eating at Chipotle before their illnesses started. Chipotle founder and co-CEO Steve Ells went on NBC’s Today to publicly apologize for the scares and promote Chipotle’s reinvigorated commitment to food safety.
Chipotle said previously that they expected more victims to come forward, perhaps because many food poisoning victims do not exhibit symptoms right away.
CDC can not say for now how much possible it is that all the cases having both DNA fingerprint are linked, but the federal agency has said that it is performing tests to know the true.
Even with the measures in place, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. They include one person in Kansas, one in North Dakota and three in Oklahoma.
In November, an outbreak of E. coli that sickened 19 people in seven states was linked to Costco’s rotisserie chicken salad.
“This series of outbreaks with one chain has everyone, including my friends at the CDC, scratching their heads”, he said on CNBC Tuesday.
On its website, Chipotle identified the two restaurants implicated: 11805 Shawnee Mission Parkway in Shawnee, Kansas, and 765 Asp Avenue in Norman, Okla.
Chipotle is working with the CDC, FDA and state health officials to investigate the matter.

“People want to be cautious because if they haven’t traced the source of E.coli, the problem could still be out there”, Oches said.
