Jimmy Butler is an absolute magician.

With Stephen Curry looking like a lock to win MVP, a lot of great performances are going unnoticed. However, the Bulls came together and won a big game, 105-96, where they led the entire time. Chicago made sure things didn’t get to that point in the Christmas rematch in Oklahoma City. Obviously, it was a tough week after a really good week.
The Bulls led by 18 at the end of the third quarter.
Jimmy Butler scored 23 points (9-20 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 Ft) while adding six rebounds, four assists and four steals in 43 minutes during Friday’s win over the Thunder. Durant finished with 29 points, nine rebounds and seven assists and carried the Thunder for most of the game. He also collected nine rebounds and seven assists.
Centre Enes Kanter was the only other Thunder player to hit double figures with 14 points for Oklahoma City. We’ve got enough friends in here. “I have no clue (why), man”. “I think we got a bunch of talented guys and this tells us how hard we got to play., on the road, At home, this is how we got to play basketball”. The lineup of Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka, Kanter and guard Anthony Morrow quickly closed the gap to 12 with 6:59 left. However, key baskets and free throws from Butler, Rose and Gasol held off OKC’s late-game challenge and the Bulls escaped with the victory.
In a game that featured several skirmishes, the Bulls outrebounded the NBA’s No. 2 rebounding team 53-48. Oklahoma City would end the half on a 15-3 run and seemingly gained the momentum, even though they were still down 54-52. “That’s all we need, everybody on the same page”. With time running out in the quarter, Portis smartly scored on a baseline floater off a turnover with one second left in the quarter to give the Bulls their largest lead at 86-68 after three. Noah, maybe the team’s most important defensive player, won’t be playing for at least two weeks.
While Durant was still able to get his points, he wasn’t as proficient as he had been in previous contests. “You have to stop (Durant and Westbrook) from getting easy looks, make them work for their money, and then keep everybody else off. Don’t let the bench have an impact”.
He also said Hoiberg picked up his intensity during the practices. “He is such a talented player, he and Westbrook”.
There are so many things to fix in Rose’s game, and the fact he has shot the ball 6 of 21 over his last two does not bode well for it changing. That’s a heck of a task. We know that we can play like this on a nightly basis.

This was the Thunder’s first home loss since November 20 against the Knicks, just 13 games into the season.
