“Are you ready Christmas Eve 12:01 AM, we are coming to you from out of the blue – peace and love peace love”, drummer Ringo Starr tweeted following the announcement.
The music has remained popular, but it wasn’t available digitally until Apple’s iTunes acquired rights five years ago.
The streaming deal the BEATLES’ U.K. albums, the two volumes of THE PAST MASTERS, YELLOW SUBMARINE and a trio of greatest hits compilations, THE BEATLES 1962-1966, THE BEATLES 1967-1970 and 1, totaling 224 songs.
For those who wanted to hop onto Spotify or Apple Music and hear “I Want To Hold Your Hand” or “A Day in the Life”, their holiday wish is about to be granted. As of midnight on December 24, their entire library of music will be available on streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music.
“The Beatles are the most iconic band in music history and their catalog is the #1 request from our subscribers around the world”, said Ethan Rudin, chief financial officer of music streaming service Rhapsody International. The list includes major players as well as emerging names in the industry that include Apple Music, Slacker, Tidal, Deezer, Google Play, Amazon Prime, Spotify, Microsoft Groove and Napster.

It’s also a huge move in the music world when today’s top-selling artists, like Taylor Swift and Adele, are withholding new music from streaming. The music service already has some songs with a lot of restrictions.
