The Beatles fans could enjoy songs from the band as it was recently announced that it will be available for online streaming starting on Christmas eve.
This year, Taylor Swift made the decision to pull her tracks off of Spotify following the release of her album 1989, while Adele’s record-breaking third LP 25 is still not available to stream. Some are saying that the availability of their discography might bring even more people to music streaming since they will be able to legally access all these songs for a monthly service fee.
“The Beatles are the most iconic band in music history and their catalogue is the number one request from our subscribers around the world”, said Ethan Rudin, chief financial officer of music streaming service Rhapsody International.
The band’s recordings are controlled by its own management company, Apple Corps, plus music label EMI. And now, with the official announcement, the week-long rumours of their music spreading across several other services turned true. The site also includes an interactive graphic displaying the progress of the sun across the planet, which users can follow along to determine the group’s long-awaited entry into the streaming arena.
Come back to Oregonlive’s music blog tomorrow morning to see which 11 songs music critic David Greenwald tabbed as some of the Beatles’ best.

The Beatles are going to music streaming services at midnight, just in time for the holidays. But until now (tomorrow, actually) if you wanted to listen to a streaming Beatles tune you could only do that on Pandora Media Inc.’s (NYSE: P) streaming radio. However, Beatles’ appearance on Spotify will be a great means of recovery for a service that lost Ms. Swift due to her issues with the platform’s dynamics.
