Two Israeli policemen who became suspicious of a Palestinian at the Tsahal square near the Old City of Jerusalem, approached him and asked to see his identification, Xinhua news agency quoted a senior official as saying. After refusing the police’s call to drop the knife, an officer shot him once. “The terrorist whipped out a knife and tried to stab a police officer”. The policemen were unharmed.
A Palestinian woman motorist whom authorities say sought to run over a group of Border Police officers near the West Bank village of Silwad was shot and killed just before sundown on Friday.
“We are continuing our robust deployment in Jerusalem, to maintain the security of the public and the many visitors to the city”. The military says the troops had opened fire on Palestinians attempting to breach the Gaza Strip’s border fence with Israel.
Two Palestinians were killed on Friday and more than 30 injured in violent tension between Israel and the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Xinhua reported.
Palestinian sources named the driver as Maher al-Jabi, 56, who they said died of his wounds in a Nablus hospital.
Police said they used anti-riot measures to disperse the demonstrators after some began throwing rocks.
In the occupied West Bank on Thursday, three attacks were carried out on Israeli military and security personnel, injuring three.
At least 125 Palestinians have died by Israeli fire in the same period, of whom 86 Israel says were attacking or attempting to attack Israelis.

A fourth Palestinian was also killed when clashes erupted in the Qalandiya refugee camp after Israeli forces entered to arrest residents suspected of involvement in the days’ attacks.
