Oakland Raiders beat San Diego Chargers in Charles Woodson’s last home game
Kulwinder Singh, of San Jose, right, stands with friend Paul Gosal, of Tracy, left, as they hand out signs asking for the Raiders to stay in Oakland before the Oakland Raiders vs. San Diego Chargers game at O.Co Coliseum in Oakland, Calif., on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015.

Not only did the Oakland “D” win the game by keeping the Chargers out of the end zone in the OT, but they also scored a safety and evened the turnover battle at one apiece.
There was a show-stealing moment, however, and it was from Woodson’s son, who would not stop telling the world that the “best player in the NFL” is his dad.
Charles Woodson has one more week with the Raiders and the National Football League before he retires, but Thursday’s home game – his final home game – against the Chargers was no doubt an emotional one for him and Raiders fans.
NOTES: The Chargers have lost seven straight division games…. But big runs by Latavius Murray gave Oakland an early lead and Derek Carr threw a go-ahead touchdown pass to James Jones with 1:42 to play. Ken Stabler’s pass to Dave “The Ghost” Casper set up the game-tying field goal late in the fourth quarter on December 24, 1977. Raiders owner Mark Davis and Chargers owner Dean Spanos are seeking to partner on building a stadium in Carson.
On third-and-8 from the San Diego 43, Carr completed a 33-yard pass to wide receiver Seth Roberts, giving Oakland a first down and setting up Janikowski’s chip shot. The move that helps win football games. He caught five passes for 38 yards Thursday and has 37 catches for 207 yards overall.
The Chargers roared back, and Josh Lambo kicked a 45-yard field goal with 55 seconds left, making it 20-20.
“I was nearly in the end zone”. Rivers had no answer for Sebastian Janikowski’s 31-yard field goal, though, failing to convert a fourth down on the Chargers’ first series of the extra frame.2.
A few minutes later, San Diego running back David Johnson caught a short pass from Rivers, but was stripped of the ball by Malcolm Smith and picked up by Benson Mayowa, who returned the ball from the San Diego 44 to the 3. “Nobody wants to go out with negative-three yards rushing”.
The decision to take those three points off the board will cause some second-guessing in San Diego.

ABOUT THE CHARGERS (4-10): San Diego was limited to a field goal in back-to-back losses to AFC West rivals Denver and Kansas City before breaking out with a 30-14 home win over Miami on Sunday behind 311 yards and three touchdowns from quarterback Philip Rivers. He is the first Raider to rush for at least 1,000 yards in a season since Darren McFadden in 2010.
