Miss Universe goof-up gives Miss Colombia minutes of fame
Harvey read the card wrong, confuses the verdict and announces Miss Colombia as the victor. The incident was widely discussed on social media and Harvey even apologised to the ladies.

Miss Philippines was crowned the 2015 victor a short time later while Gutierrez was then named first runner-up, followed by USA’s Olivia Jordan as second runner-up.
Sarah-Lorraine Riek, who represented Germany in the pageant and who did not place among the top spots, spoke to Missosology about the outcome…
On Sunday, the amusing man announced the new Miss Universe was Miss Colombia, who quickly put on her crown, however moments later Steve cut in to announce that he’d made a mistake and that the real victor was Miss Philippines.
Speaking to cameras in an interview posted on the Miss Universe Facebook page, she said she believes “everything happens for a reason”, “I’m so happy, thank you for voting for me”. “The photos are there to prove it. To me, as a Colombian, she is still Miss Universe”.
It was also a proud moment for Filipina beauty queens and past Miss Universe finalists Miriam Quiambao, Venus Raj, and Ariella Arida as Wurtzbach brought home the crown. Harvey later took to Twitter to apologize, but he made another misstep when he misspelled both Colombia and the Philippines in an initial tweet. The caption references the fact that Miss Colombia, Paulina Vega, won the 2014 Miss Universe title.
However, Trump no longer owns the Miss Universe Organization. “I have to apologize”, he said, while standing next to Arevalo. “Are you going to take the crown from me now?'”
Yesterday, ET Online reported Harvey as saying that he accidentally called out Miss Universe instead of first runner-up and realized it later upon looking at his cue card.

ET reached out to Harvey for comment, but have been told the comedian is “unavailable”.
