Guus Hiddink dreads ‘Strong & Dangerous’ Ighalo
Under now unemployed Jose Mourinho, the West London side slumped to 15th in the Premier League table, enduring the worst ever title defence in the top flight’s history.

Ighalo was unable to convert either of the two chances that came his way inside the opening half-hour and Watford were made to pay as they fell behind with 32 minutes played.
Guus Hiddink has challenged his Chelsea players to break the negative cycle that has seen the champions lose touch with the top of the Premier League this season.
“First of all, some youth players are participating in first-team training sessions, but I want my analysis and observations first”, said the Dutchman, who has been appointed interim manager by Chelsea for a second time.
“But I think he can be a key player again”. I wasn’t used to that.
“He was focused more on what he is hired for here, which is helping to score or assist and not going into other things”.
After their trip to Stamford Bridge, Watford host Spurs on the December 28th, followed by Manchester City on January 2nd.
“We can not ignore what has happened in the recent past, but I asked them and told them to look in the mirror and be hypercritical and give the best for the team”. I remember that day because it’s fixed in my brain, even though it was just after World War II!
“If the target is impossible, don’t set it, but I did put that to them”, the interim boss said.
“At this moment he is playing in Montreal but all clubs have figures who can be ambassadors, coaches, manager or whatever, and they need the opportunity to do so”.
“It was also an emotional reaction borne out of frustration”.
“Sportsmen are allowed to show a bit of emotion but they must acknowledge five seconds later that they were wrong”.
“I expect Chelsea to win at home, and I’d be shocked if they didn’t despite Watford’s good form”. Eden Hazard hasn’t trained with the first team since he acquired a hip injury against Leicester City however he is expected to make the bench for the encounter with Watford.

Given their results and performances at Stamford Bridge in 2015/16, it is now nearly unimaginable that Chelsea once went 86 top flight home games without defeat between 2004 and 2008, a run that ended three-and-a-half months before Hiddink replaced Luiz Felipe Scolari in the dugout.
