“I want the PM to tell me what my fault is”.
BJP suspended lawmaker Kirti Azad for targeting Arun Jaitley over allegations of corruption in Delhi’s cricket body DDCA.
Refusing to relent a day after his suspension, MP Kirti Azad asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the matter and said he would seek a court-monitored probe into the affairs of Delhi’s cricket body, DDCA.
“The fun starts.” Son of former Bihar chief minister Bhagwat Jha Azad, the younger Azad has for years carried on a campaign against what he said was major financial irregularities in the DDCA.
In a veiled warning that in-house dissenters, including Shatrughan Sinha, may face Azad’s fate, Jaitley hinted on his blog, “Stray thoughts after winter session”, that disciplinary action was initiated against the former cricketer for his refusal to mend ways despite warning.
“But politics should not stoop to this level which is unhealthy for the country”, he said Chhina also lashed out at Kirti Azad”. He maintained that his “fight is against corruption” and that he “will continue to raise his voice against corruption”.
It was learnt that the party high command has taken a serious view of Mr Azad’s coming out in the open against finance minister Arun Jaitley despite being cautioned by BJP chief Amit Shah. “We welcome their guidance on all matters concerning the party”, BJP National Secretary Shrikant Sharma said.
“I verify this that I’ll aid Kirti Azad about the draft notice”. He said Jaitley was man of integrity and clean public image who would never stoop low to indulge in any corrupt practice and attack on him was all due to political reasons.
Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi said that Mr. Modi had promised in the run-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections that there would be zero tolerance for corruption but had failed to act when instances of wrongdoing were brought to his notice.
Azad is also planning to seek an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his intervention over his suspension from the party.

Concerned over Azad’s crusade in the alleged DDCA graft case, Amit Shah was left with no other option but to suspend him following Azad’s charges against Jaitley. Then, the veterans had said in a statement that the present leadership had “emasculated” the party.
