“The fire is being pushed by a strong northwest wind and now poses a threat to oil, gas, power, and rail infrastructure”, warned the Ventura County emergency information website.

The fire started around 10:30 p.m. Friday, burning about 100 acres in the 3000 block of West Pacific Coast Highway.
About 2 a.m. on Saturday in a video posted on Facebook, Ventura County Fire Department Captain Steve Kaufman said the fire was near the beach, “bumping up against the roadway”.
The Ventura County Fire Department reported two minor injuries to firefighters, one an ankle injury and the other an injury to a knee. Fire rips through dry brush at Solimar BeachDuring a mid-morning press conference, fire officials estimated firefighters would be working on the blaze for the next three days.
Footage from the scene showed vegetation ablaze and hazy smoke billowing across roadways.
Early this morning, residents of the Solimar community – about 30 homes – were evacuated, as were visitors camping at the Emma Wood State Beach.
The fire spread very quickly and the flames were impulsed by north winds that reached about 50 miles per hour, said Chief Mark Lorenzen from the Ventura County Fire Department. Voluntary evacuations were in place at Faria Beach.
The fast-moving fire near Ventura prompting mandatory evacuations in the area, as well as the temporary closure of Highway 101.
A 1,238-acre wildfire in coastal Southern California is now 60 percent contained and evacuation orders have been lifted for dozens of homes.
The California Highway Patrol shut down a stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway, the northbound 101 Freeway at Highway 33, the southbound 101 Freeway at Bates Avenue, and the Union Pacific Railroads.
One state park campground remains closed. Authorities urged caution for those using Highway 150 as an alternate because of heavy traffic.
The highway, a major roadway in the region, may reopen in the afternoon, fire and police officials said.

Earlier in the day, fire officials described the blaze as “dynamic”, and warned that even if the road reopened it could be closed again if the flames changed direction or speed of growth.
