The two largest cellphone groups Apple and Samsung have filed over forty patent lawsuits against eachother, over the previous couple of years.

“Samsung continues to reserve all rights to obtain reimbursement from Apple and/or payment by Apple of all amounts required to be paid as taxes”.
The request comes less than two weeks after Samsung eventually consented to pay Apple $548 million in compliance together with the first verdict. The company in Cupertino is now asking the court for another $179 million to sweeten the deal. The iPhone maker has another bill for Samsung, and cited five of their devices that were still for sale after the verdict was handed down in the patent infringement case.
In court papers filed on Wednesday, Apple Inc stated Samsung Electronics Co Ltd 005930.KS owes nearly $ one hundred eighty million in supplemental damages and curiosity. US District Court Judge Lucy Koh officially granted the motion late yesterday. The company has been fighting Apple in court for years over the infringement of patents and designs between Samsung and Apple, and now it has finally agreed to settle the case. The grand total of additional damages is US$178,659,870, and is primarily due to sales of the Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, Galaxy S II T-Mobile, and Galaxy S II Skyrocket, with lesser damages attributed to the Droid Charge and Galaxy Prevail.
Just for those who are not following this case, Apple won a $930 million legal victory over Samsung in 2012, and after plenty of courtroom back-and-forth, Samsung eventually paid out $548 million earlier this month.
