Leicester City offer new contract to Chelsea target Jamie Vardy
Louis van Gaal hinted after United’s feeble 2-0 loss at Stoke City on Saturday that he could quit before being forced to relinquish the hot seat and the game against Chelsea, managed by his Dutch compatriot Guus Hiddink, could well be his last. “Today was a very physical game and we didn’t play well enough”.

He had described the match as “must-win”, but his side were deservedly beaten 2-0 at a windswept Britannia Stadium after Bojan Krkic punished a Memphis Depay error to open the scoring in the 19th minute before Marko Arnautovic slammed home a brilliant second goal seven minutes later.
Christian Benteke’s second-half goal sealed the points at Anfield as Leicester were handed their first league defeat since September, and only their second of the season.
“Every Chelsea versus Manchester United game is big but this one is especially of course”, he said.
Who will come out on top in the battle of the managers Jürgen Klopp or Claudio Ranieri? “Liverpool pushed from the beginning and for this season they deserved to win”. “We have to cope with that and look for the solution”.
He added: “It’s more hard because I’m also part of the four matches (in succession) that we have lost”.
“More important is that my players have to perform”.
Should Jamie Vardy remain at Leicester City for the rest of the season?
“At the end it is a fair result”, Hiddink said.

“Sometimes there’s a little bit of snobbery about the fact why we have to stop Leicester from playing of all teams”. The teams in between them are Palace, Watford, West Ham United, Liverpool and Everton and a win over the Red Devils may see them jump to at least eighth spot in the table and close the gap against United.
