If you’ve been geeking out over Star Wars: The Force Awakens for as long as we have, it probably wasn’t hard for you to pick out some moments from the trailers that didn’t make their way into the finished film. It’s unclear whether Anakin would have presented himself as Darth Vader to Kylo Ren, or as Anakin Skywalker to Rey or Luke. Later in the movie, three people walk into a bar where aliens of different races, from petty criminals to helpful associates, lounge and get drunk. Most diehard fans rushed to the theater during opening weekend, and B. Riley & Co’s Eric Wold told Deadline Hollywood, “Disney likely requested (demanded) a much higher-than-average film rent split” from exhibitors.

The visit wasn’t Hamill’s only charitable effort in what has been a fairly busy month for the actor, what with the premiere of “The Force Awakens” and promotion in support of the box office record-shattering film.
That man’s name was Rocky Balboa and the latest film in the Rocky franchise, Creed, is a pitch-perfect example of how to make a almost four decades old film series startlingly fresh and relevant for a new generation. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda are certainly possibilities for new Hero characters, even if they would not exactly fit Star Wars canon.

In an unusual, although not unprecedented move, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has received an 11th-hour Critics’ Choice Award nomination for best picture more than a week after contenders were initially announced.
