Putin says works ‘easily’ with both US, Damascus on Syria crisis
Speaking after a press conference on Thursday, the Russian president hailed the billionaire tycoon as the “absolute leader in the presidential race”.

Kasich’s release – which says it was “paid for with dollars, not rubles” – also mentioned Putin’s “willingness to regularly violate other countries’ territorial integrity in blatant violation of worldwide law if it suited his aims”, references to Russia’s invasions of Georgia and Ukraine. How can we not welcome that?
However, the Russian president noted that he was ready to work with whoever becomes the next U.S. head of state. He doesn’t respect Obama at all.
Chris Christie, meanwhile, has continually talked tough regarding Putin and Russian Federation on the campaign trail.
“I have all the time felt that Russian Federation and the U.S. ought to be capable of work properly with one another in the direction of defeating terrorism and restoring world peace, to not point out commerce and all the different advantages derived from mutual respect”.
Putin assessed Trump as “the absolute leader in the American presidential race”, suggesting his comments could be an early attempt to curry favor with a man he may have to deal with.
In an interview with “Morning Joe” Friday, Trump said he was pleased to be praised by Putin.
Putin’s statement came after a Ukrainian journalist “passed on a hello from Capt. Erofeyev and Sgt. Alexandrov”, two alleged Russian servicemen captured by Kiev whom Russia said quit the army before going to Ukraine.
“He’s running his country and at least he’s a leader”, Trump said, leaving the hosts stunned. “Of course, we welcome that”, said Putin.
Many GOP presidential hopefuls have been critical of Putin.
While fellow Republican contenders have been highly skeptical of stepped up Russian military involvement in Syria, Trump has welcomed it.
Mr Putin also took the opportunity to unleash a furious tirade against Turkey using vulgar language to wonder aloud whether it had shot down a Russian warplane last month to curry favour with the US.
Beyond a common desire for a lighter USA footprint in Syria, Putin and Trump also share a similar style.
In October, Mr Trump told US TV network CBS that he and Mr Putin would “probably get along… very well”.

“I will get along, I think, with Putin, and I will get along with others, and we will have a much more stable, stable world”, Trump said in September.
