Leicester offer new deal to Jamie Vardy
“We started to play too late”, said Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri, whose side host third-place Manchester City on Tuesday. Mourinho, barely a fortnight removed from his Stamford Bridge exit, coaching against the same group of players that got him sacked a second time at Chelsea.

If Leicester slip up against Liverpool in the 3pm kick off tonight the graphic above shows that Arsenal could take advantage and go top of the Premier League table against Southampton.
Sounds like the Citizens are joining Chelsea in the race to acquire Jamie Vardy.
Leicester have been in fine form and have recorded impressive wins over the likes of Chelsea and Everton in recent weeks. Leicester at Anfield Leicester travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool, where a win would keep them first in the league table.
However, full-back Cuco Martina marked his first Premier League start of the season with a superb swerving 25-yard strike to put the Saints ahead after 19 minutes before Shane Long (55) doubled the lead.
Louis van Gaal’s side have averaged just 1.22 goals per game in the league this season (22 goals in 18 games). And all the while they’ve played some of the most lacklustre, uninspired football imaginable. When we achieve 40 points we’ll stop for one second and have a meeting. Steve McLaren’s side suddenly have spunk and a sense of togetherness about them. James Milner could also miss the game with a calf injury.
Liverpool have never lost at home in the Premier League on Boxing Day (W5 D3), but Leicester were one of the teams to earn a draw back in 1996.
The story only underlines that this is an English season which has defied all attempts at prediction and punditry, and made a fool of just about every so-called expert.
Vardy has been in devastating form for Leicester this term, smashing home 15 Premier League goals.
But with or without The Special One these next few days will be the most meaningful and formative of the Premier League season. The rise of this attacking midfielder/winger has been meteoric now that some of the biggest clubs in Europe, let alone England, are keeping an eye out for his performances in England.
Manchester City continue to blow hot and cold, sometimes within the same match. “That what has really made the difference, he’s now so decisive”.

The 29-year-old was heavily linked with Arsenal last summer before completing a £29 million move to the Vicente Calderon.
