Peyton Manning’s future with Broncos could hinge on ‘pivotal’ Saturday workout
“That’s part of football”, Kubiak said.

Asked whether Saturday’s not-so-big “big workout” would determine Manning’s ability to practice in the week after the game, Kubiak said, “No. We had a good week”.
Peyton Manning hasn’t played since November 15 because of a torn plantar fascia in his left foot.
This report comes after Peyton Manning flat out refute NFL.com’s Ian Rapaport’s claim that he is unsatisfied serving as the Broncos backup quarterback behind Brock Osweiler.
The AFC West-leading Denver Broncos (10-4) play host to the AFC North-leading Cincinnati Bengals (11-3) in a Monday night game with major playoff implications.
There won’t be a surprise Peyton Manning return on Monday night for the Broncos, as the team announced Wednesday that Manning would be inactive for Week 16.
Following that outing, Denver will close the season with a division matchup taking on the struggling San Diego Chargers.
The offense is slightly more effective on a per-game and a per-possession basis with Osweiler than Manning, who will not practice this week after encountering foot soreness following two days of practice before last week’s loss to the Steelers.
“Let’s go from there”, Kubiak said.
Head coach Gary Kubiak notified the team Wednesday morning of the situation.
After Saturday’s “big workout”, Kubiak didn’t have much to say. With Osweiler starting such a pivotal game for the Broncos the likelihood that Manning has played his last game for the team increases. “… I thought it was a really good week”. I show my emotion inside the white lines, and when I leave the field, I’m pleased with the win but I try to never get too high or too low. Unfortunately, the Broncos haven’t score a second half point since November 29th vs. the New England Patriots.
A first-ever Pro Bowl nod wasn’t all that escaped Broncos defensive end Malik Jackson this week.

Starting cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick was a surprise non-participant in Wednesday’s practice. But in the second half, he was just 7-for-26 passing and had an interception; Denver was shut out, and the Steelers came back.
