Star Wars – The Force Awakens releases in India today
Star Wars fans can embark on that much-awaited journey to a galaxy far, far away with this must-have collectible. Oscar Isaac is also excellent as Poe Dameron, and I just wish we had seen even more of him here.

That’s just the kind of person Coach Beamer is, putting aside his own wants and needs in order to make sure each and every one of his players had the best chance to succeed on and off the football field. Defensive end Dadi Nicolas ended his college career with a defining moment on Tulsa’s final play from scrimmage.

Floods in Britain prompt emergency government talks
People are being advised to move valuables and take advice from emergency services about evacuation. Eleven flood warnings have been issued in Scotland covering the Borders and Tayside areas.

On the eve of Frank Beamer’s final game as Virginia Tech’s head coach, the Marching Virginians, Tech’s marching band, presented college football’s active wins leader with an orange and maroon trombone as a thank you for his 29 years in Blacksburg. The first game of that streak also was in the Independence Bowl in 1993, when the Hokies beat in 45-20.

Retiring coach Frank Beamer acknowledges Virginia Tech fans after…

“Well, they’ve added a couple of big hotels”, Beamer said of Shreveport. The last time I came to Shreveport, I leave here a happy guy. “I’m going to come back to Shreveport just for the hell of it”.

Tulsa coach Philip Montgomery was coaching the Hurricane (6-7) in a bowl game for the first time.

This is also a tough matchup in general for Tulsa, which struggled against the formidable opponents on its schedule this season.

“We’ve been in games like this all year and we know how to handle it”, Montgomery said. “DeAndre recognized that and actually came during a timeout and said, ‘we can run we would like to play like that pace, but we thought we were at a disadvantage in terms of a speed game'”.

“We felt like we could run the ball and, in turn, we felt like we could get some time in the pocket to extend the ball downfield”.

“We finally got a little bit of momentum”, he said.

Ernest Wilford remains the only Tech pass-catcher to have more receiving yards in a game than Ford.

The teams combined for 1,161 total yards.

Announced attendance was 31,289, the lowest since the 1988 game between Southern Mississippi and UTEP when 20,242 were on hand. He needs 94 yards to surpass the nation’s leader this year, Roger Lewis (of Bowling Green), who has already played his bowl game. “It’s gonna hit me more as the final seconds tick down”.

The first half was memorable due to the record-setting scoring compiled by the Hokies and the Hurricane. “Usually when we score as many points as we did tonight, it’s usually a done deal”. The previous record for most points in a half was 45 by LSU and Michigan State in 1995.

Joshua Atkinson caught 11 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown.

A Dane Evans 36-yard touchdown pass to Keyarris Garrett with 3:47 to go cut the Hokies’ lead to 55-52. The Golden Hurricane have a pair of 700-yard rushers, Zack Langer has 17 touchdowns on the ground. The 76 combined points easily set the Independence Bowl first-half record.

The amount of offensive talent lined up for next fall should be refreshing for a Virginia Tech program that’s finished No. 83 or worse nationally in total offense each of the last four seasons.
