Rams beat Seattle 23-17 for 1st win in Seattle since 2004
For five weeks, the Seahawks played like a team capable of beating anyone in the playoffs. Can he continue his wonderful second half of the season when the Seattle Seahawks host the St. Louis Rams?

For the first time since the 2004 playoffs the Rams left Seattle on Sunday as winners. This was the first time in Wilson’s 63 career games the Seahawks didn’t lead at some point in a game. They also couldn’t run the ball, gaining only 60 yards. Seattle got back into the game thanks to two personal fouls by the Rams on third-down incomplete passes that extended the Seahawks’ last drive of the first half and first one after halftime.
The Seahawks played beyond sloppily. Alvin Bailey is expected to get the start.
But while the game wasn’t pretty, it also was a game the team and fans are happy to forget – something made much easier after a playoff-clinching win against the Browns a week ago. Last week Wilson became the first in National Football League history to throw three or more TD passes without an interception in five consecutive games. After the officials huddled, Seattle S Earl Thomas was credited with a fumble recovery. Through the air, wide receiver Doug Baldwin led the way with eight catches for 118 yards and one touchdown. Case Keenum completed 14 of 17 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns. Even though the loss did not impact Seattle making the post-season, it could come back to haunt the Seahawks following next weekend’s regular season finales. Johnson caught the ball at the Rams’ 11-yard line. Lost chances on both sides of the ball resulted in a 23-17 defeat that ended Seattle’s five-game winning streak and felt like a relapse to the woes that caused 2-4 and 4-5 starts to this season. Britt, who hauled in the 28-yard scoring pass, has three catches for 49 yards.
One of the most decisive offensive plays, as it turned out, occurred in the first quarter when fullback Will Tukuafu, attempting to convert a 3rd-and-1, had the ball knocked loose. St. Louis’ Akeem Ayers ran that back 45 yards for a touchdown. It marked the first TD off a fumble return ceded by the Seahawks since October 5 when Caraun Reid of Detroit scored on a 27-yard return. Seattle’s second drive was somehow worse. Seattle was led defensively by Bobby Wagner (11 total tackles) and Kelcie McCray (10 total stops).
“This was a day that you want to forget”. It was very hard.
“They’re not giving out participation trophies for us not quitting”, Long said. “It was jut a mess” – Carroll. He was hit from behind by Eugene Sims, losing control of the ball just before he hit the ground. There’s nobody to blame. That’s what we try and do every play.
“We were definitely flat”.
Seattle was an 11-point favorite heading into the game. “We rarely look like this”. We have a lot of weaknesses that we need to fix.
