Latest from the NFL: Mallett slated for Ravens vs Steelers
With the holiday season in full swing, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been preparing for a Sunday rivalry game with the Baltimore Ravens. At right is Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison. Pressed on how his team has improved since a 23-20 overtime home loss to Baltimore on October 1 and he gives the equivalent of a verbal shoulder shrug.

Ryan Mallett will become the Baltimore Ravens’ fourth starting quarterback in their past six games when they play host to the AFC North rival Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, a team source confirmed to ESPN.
The Steelers’ secondary hasn’t been incredible this season and they have allowed 262 yards over their last three games to opposing quarterbacks.
“I think, in life, you always have to work on something”, Dumervil said. But it’s still a big game. The Ravens defeated the Steelers 20-17. While Roethlisberger was nursing an MCL sprain, backup Michael Vick passed for only 124 yards. The over/under total for the game has been set at 47 points. The Steelers need a rare road victory in this series and a loss by the New York Jets against New England to secure a postseason berth for the second straight season.
There’s no telling who will be calling the signals for Baltimore. The game was previously scheduled to be the Sunday Night Football featured game of the week but got flexed out in favor of the Giants and Vikings game. “But largely, their schematics are their schematics, and they have a playing style that has been displayed throughout the 14 games that they’ve played”.
White has scored a touchdown in four of the last five games. But this is Steelers-Ravens, so… “It hasn’t helped us win games”.
“This might sound brash, but we believed the whole time that we were going to beat Pittsburgh”, Smith said. Their starting left tackle went down for the season in the first six games.
“We understand they’re coming in here with a lot at stake, and I’m sure a lot of their fans are going to be trying to get in the stadium as well”, Harbaugh said. DeAngelo Williams was limited to 26 yards by Denver but has six rushing touchdowns in his last six games while Pittsburgh’s defense is fifth against the run (89.4 yards) but 31st against the pass (279.1).
“Obviously, it will hurt their playoff chances”, Pro Bowl guard Marshal Yanda said.
PREDICTION: With the Ravens’ defense unrecognizably pathetic, the Steelers roll up their 11th consecutive win in December with Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown putting up video game statistics.
The Ravens have had 19 players on injured reserve and this is not including tight end Dennis Pitta. “He loves ball”, Tomlin said. Pittsburgh is just 3-9 in its past 12 trips to Baltimore. Martavis Bryant has 32 catches and 497 yards in his past five, while Markus Wheaton has a touchdown in three of his last four. It’s not that they can’t do the other things.

“We’ve got respect for those guys, players and coaches”, he said.
