Earlier in the day, Sly took to YouTube to recant statements he gave to Al Jazeera on a hidden camera interview in which he implicated Manning and his wife, Ashley, as being recipients of HGH through The Guyer Institute.
The NFL collective bargaining agreement, ratified in 2011, banned HGH. Sly claimed the packages were sent to Manning – then a player for the Indianapolis Colts – under his wife’s name, Ashley Manning. “Our organization is confident Peyton does things the right way, and we do not find this story to be credible”.
Manning is now battling foot and rib injuries as the Broncos continue to push for a playoff run with QB at the helm. “I’ve got some built-up anger as you might understand”, Manning said.
Other NFL players included in the Al Jazeera report include James Harrison, Julius Peppers, Dustin Keller and Mike Neal, who were all connected to substances banned by the NFL.
Sly he has since recanted his accusations about Manning to Al Jazeera, but the paper ran them anyways.
“Any further reporting of this matter is a retelling of falsehoods and fiction and complicity in the lack of journalistic ethics demonstrated by Al Jazeera“.
