No ‘Force Awakens’ DLC for Star Wars Battlefront
With those four words, judiciously chosen by director J.J. Abrams to begin the opening crawl of his hotly anticipated Episode VII, the Star Wars franchise reorients itself in the land of things that people give a rat’s ass about. “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill skipped a recent promotional appearance for “The Force Awakens” to visit sick kids at a British hospital.
In addition, Hot Toys has released images of their Star Wars: The Force Awakens 1/6th scale Finn collectible figure as well as the 1/6th scale Finn and First Order Riot Control Stormtrooper collectible set.
The third iteration of the toys-to-life adventure game Disney Infinity was released back in August, starring numerous characters from past films and the Clone Wars animated TV show. Neither Rogue One nor Han Solo seem like movies that can have sequels (both films lead directly into A New Hope), so expect Lucasfilm to eventually launch an Anthology film that can start its own trilogy.
Disney’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens continued to steamroll at the box office with its Wednesday box office this morning now projected between $37.9M-$38.2M, which is +1% from yesterday. That means the J.J. Abrams-directed film has already earned $363.5 million domestically and $402.4 million overseas, a worldwide gross of $765.9 million!
For John Boyega whose parents are Nigerian, this is the biggest movie he has starred in yet. It definitely wasn’t meant to be diversionary.
That’s great news for Star Wars fans, as it suggests the next Star Wars movie will be just as good, if not better, than “The Force Awakens”.
“I’m not a huge fan of directors’ cuts and modifications to a movie”, he said.

“When it became clear what this story was and where Episode VIII” and Episode IX would go, the end of this movie was very much meant to be a cliffhanger.
