Broncos QB Osweiler to start vs. Bengals
A plantar fascia tear is a fickle injury and can nag the aflicted for months. Coach Gary Kubiak has let him loose, as he threw 51 passes in a 15-12 loss to Oakland two weeks ago and had three TDs in last week’s 34-27 loss to Pittsburgh.

“It was good. It went really good”, Kubiak said Saturday of Manning’s throwing. “He probably worked harder [Saturday] than he did the other two days in all honesty, but it was a good workout”. Manning has not participated in a full practice since November 13. “You know, once you get your feet on the field, you don’t want to go back to the bench, if you will”.
“I think that’s any athlete’s mindset”, Osweiler said. Part of that stat has to do with the Bengals getting big leads early on in games leading their opponent to play catch-up and throw the ball more.
Kubiak watched video of Manning’s workouts, but he set off a firestorm Thursday when he offhandedly mentioned he’d witness Manning’s “big workout on Saturday”. “It was a “Friday” workout”. That won’t be good enough to topple Cincy; they’re 7-1 against teams averaging fewer than 23 points per game.
Brock Osweiler is going to start for the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, but he’s not going to be 100 percent. His future in the game, however, depends heavily on a workout today at the Denver Broncos practice facility. Osweiler is directly under center in about 30 percent more of the offensive snaps than Manning, while Denver is using the run and play-action a little bit more as well. “So I just try to hold the team and myself up to that standard”. “I’m going to go see the doctor this afternoon and hopefully we can get it fixed”. I’m not having to win football games by myself. “I feel like I’m always calm”.

The Denver Broncos coaching staff will have a very tough decision at the quarterback position for this upcoming week. “That’s what we’re focused on right now”. It may be time to fully commit to letting Osweiler take control of the Broncos offense for good, considering Manning may only have one or two decent years left.
