Jets move into playoff position, 26-20 in OT over Patriots

How many times in the past would the Jets have lost a game like that? Now all they have to do to get in for the first time in five years is beat old buddy Rex Ryan, who has a team with its bags packed ready to get out of town and head for the beach.

Pakistan not expecting much from January talks: Aziz
The Khaleej Times says both the Prime Ministers have shown their eagerness to cement a new era in their relationship. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday invited people to connect with him by downloading the ” Narendra Modi App “.

The excellent sign for the Jets was the ability to get it going in overtime. That is a number that is unheard of from a Tom Brady-led team. On Sunday, it was Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. We will let you know.

Centre notifies extension in Rangers’ policing powers
According to sources at PM House, during his visit to the provincial capital, the Premier will attend a conference of Karachi’s businessmen and traders.

Pats wideout Matthew Slater won the toss and told referee Clete Blakeman, “We want to kick, that way”, then appeared to regret the decision. “We’ve got to get the next one to get in and that’s how we’ll view it. This is a fun run”.

And everyone was left trying to make heads or tails of the New England coach’s stunning decision.

New England (12-3) still can clinch home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs with a victory at Miami next Sunday. Patriots coach Bill Belichick said there was “no confusion” on the call; he’d done it once before in 2013, but a hefty wind was involved against Denver.

These are games the Jets have always lost. What happened in between, though, sure confused the hell out of everyone for a minute there. Obviously, none of us played to our best today.

And it’s rarely had a happy ending for the Jets.

“I’m just proud of everybody”. We’ve done a good job of putting ourselves in position to do that.

Regardless, Seattle is in the playoffs as a wild-card team.

What Slater didn’t understand is that the team that wins an overtime coin toss can choose whether to kick off/receive or which goal to defend, but not both. The Jets had just four first downs in their final four possessions of regulation and a punt might have given the injury-ravaged Patriots a short field with which to drive for the decisive field goal. The crowd sensed that on Fan Appreciation Day and MetLife Stadium was electric.

“Decker, go-go, Mr. Red Zone, fade, touchdown, ” cornerback Buster Skrine said.

Mike Reiss also reported that Slater checked with coaches several times on the decision to kick. How about that dropkick against the Eagles.

On three successive plays of their first scoring drive, the Patriots ran a flea-flicker (incomplete to Rob Gronkowski), a reverse to Brandon LaFell (9 yards), and a Wildcat run with Brandon Bolden for no gain.

But the Jets responded immediately, driving 80 yards in 13 plays for the game’s first touchdown and a 10-3 lead with 1:57 left in the first half. He will probably get a two-week tryout to determine if he’s backup quarterback material for next season. Belichick loves doubling up in those situations with back-to-back scores. I just think collectively players and the coaching staff reeled it in and got tighter as a group and just went for it, man. It’s been a wonderful thing to be a part of actually playing meaningful football in December. Now they control their own destiny, needing a win over the Bills to snap the drought. He’s not exactly known to be forthcoming, and his disdain for the people who would report that kind of information makes it hard for them to glean any actual news. Forget about that. Win and they’re in.

The Jets look ready for anything. The Bills are 7-8 with nothing to play for except spoiling the Jets season, and you can bet there is nothing Ryan would rather do.

Belichick did the Jets a huge favor. Cromartie sort of shot Slater a “what’s going on here” glance and said the Jets would take the ball.
