Gurgaon Police Commissioner Navdeep Singh Virk said the police is trying to verify the facts and will solve the matter soon. According to police sources, preliminary investigation indicated that it was a planned kidnap as the number plate of the auto was covered with mud to avoid identification.
The vehicle which halted due to traffic saw the girl opening its doors, struggling to escape.
Some passersby tried to help the girl but the kidnappers fled before they could do anything. “We will also examine the CCTV video”, ACP Anil Kumar said.
The entire incident was captured in the CCTV placed right outside the college gate- which shows that it took less than 10 seconds for the captors to abduct the girl. An ACP rank officer is personally supervising the incident. Police officials say so far no ransom call has been made and they have not even received any formal complaint.
Jawahar Yadav, the OSD to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Khattar, offered a meek reply when questioned about the poor law and order in Gurgaon.
