Earlier a Palestinian stabbed and moderately wounded a soldier in Jerusalem before he was arrested. At least 129 Palestinians have died in the same period, of whom 89 Israel says were attacking or attempting to attack Israelis.

One suffered stab wounds and the other sustained light injuries from gunfire directed at the attackers, paramedics and the army said. Both have been taken to a hospital for treatment. Since mid-September, 20 Israelis have been killed in attacks.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said the two Palestinians killed were 17-year-old Mohammed Sabaaneh, and Nur Eddine Sabaaneh, 23, from Qabatia near Jenin in the north of the Israeli-occupied West Bank. The assailant was overpowered by a security guard and arrested, police said.
Also on Sunday, Israeli security forces arrested a Palestinian woman caught with a knife, suspected of planning to carry out an attack near Ma’ale Shomron, a Jewish settlement in the northern West Bank.
That afternoon, two soldiers shot and killed two assailants who stabbed them at a West Bank checkpoint near Nablus, according to the IDF.
After his death, undercover soldiers of the Israeli military stormed his family’s home, violently searched it and interrogated several members of his family.
Two Palestinians killed in the last week were shot dead during clashes with Israeli military forces, while the rest were killed by forces during attacks on Israeli military and civilians.
The violence has been driven by Palestinian anger over Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and disputes over access to the Al Aqsa mosque compound in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Palestinian leaders say a younger generation sees no hope for the future living under Israeli security restrictions and with a stifled economy.

Israel says the unrelenting violence is fanned by a Palestinian campaign of lies and incitement. The latest round of U.S.-brokered peace talks collapsed in April 2014.
