The Texas tornadoes followed days of tumultuous weather in the Southeast including unusual winter tornadoes that left 18 people dead there over the Christmas holiday period.
As severe weather continues across the State of Texas, Governor Abbott declared a state of disaster in the following Texas Counties: Collin, Dallas, Ellis and Rockwall Counties. All in all, the results of this monstrous storm system are blizzards, flash flooding and otherwise life-threatening weather conditions.
“Sadly, there have been multiple fatalities from this event, and our prayers are for comfort for their families”, said Sherry Bristow Watts, assistant director for Texas Adventist Community Services.
A state of emergency has been declared in the states of Missouri and New Mexico.
“American and its employees stand ready to assist in the recovery efforts and we encourage our customers to join us by donating to the Red Cross”, said Joe Taney, American’s vice president for Dallas-Fort Worth Hub Operations.
“By Sunday morning, the snow, sleet and freezing rain will expand northeast across the southern Plains”, the National Weather Service said.
Counties statewide are reporting flooding from heavy rains.

“Travel will be risky and impossible across much of the east”, it said.
