Marcus Mariota’s right knee injury not believed serious
The New England Patriots were outscored by the Tennessee Titans 13-9 in the second half and the team appeared to be lethargic after halftime.

Reports on Monday confirmed that Mariota won’t play in the Tennessee Titans’ last two games.
He finishes the year with 2,818 yards, 19 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, a 62.2 percent completion rate and a rating of 91.5, about six points higher than Winston’s current mark. Mariota missed two games earlier this season with a left knee injury. Chris Mortensen of ESPN said he has a sprained MCL, the same injury he had earlier this year that cost him some time.
The Titans are expected to sign Mike Kafka on their practice squad.
Zach Mettenberger finished the game for Tennessee throwing for 249 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions and will start the final two games against the Texans and Colts. He left the game in the second quarter after running back Antonio Andrews failed to block linebacker Jamie Collins.
The Titans surrendered five sacks against the Patriots, including one that resulted in the sprained knee that will sideline Mariota for at least this week.
Season-ending injuries to Lewis (knee) and LeGarrette Blount (hip) have enabled White to make his way onto the field on a regular basis.
“I wanted to go in right away”, Mariota said. James White caught seven passes for 71 yards, including a 30-yard catch-and-run touchdown, and Keshawn Martin had a 75-yard kickoff return to set up another score.
The Titans have confirmed that Mariota (knee) will be out for Sunday’s game against the Texans. “If there’s any way he was going to not be capable of playing, no way”. It was an A-plus of a rookie year. “He’s just been steady and he’s learned a lot in this one season alone”. And like I said, he’s never flinched, he’s never said, ‘Woe is me, ‘ … That victory, combined with a 34-27 Denver Broncos loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers later in the day, means the Patriots have clinched a first-round bye for this season’s AFC playoffs.
“Certainly if there’s any issues, if we have any concerns as we did (Sunday), we would not play him”, Mularkey told reporters.
