He said a bus tour by residents through the fire zone was an emotional and heart-breaking experience for everyone involved. “The Insurance Council of Australia estimates the losses to be worth $38 million [27.5 million USA dollars] and it is expected that the number will increase as claims are made”, ABC reported. He also added that those people who lost their home would receive financial aid.
The Great Ocean Road’s tourism industry has also taken a hit as roads to the area remain closed and accommodation cancellations pile up. So we’re actually asking the community down in that area to enjoy the coast, make the most of it, but please be vigilant and keep in touch with what’s going on.
